Anna Katz

Anna Katz – Ghostwriter

Writer, developmental editor, and book coach with a passion for enlightening and entertaining memoir, fiction, and all things comedy.

Overview

Hello, and nice to meet you.

I love collaborating with writers who are curious about themselves and the world and want to figure out why we do the strange things we do. Along with my work with individual authors, I've written and edited for Hachette, W. W. Norton, Chronicle Books, Nat Geo Kids, Amazon Publishing, Seventeen, Pokemon, Mountaineers Books, and Girl Friday Productions. One of my own books, The Art of Ramona Quimby (Chronicle, 2020), was recommended by novelist Jasmine Guillory on the Today Show and praised in the New York Times and the Paris Review. (Favorite quote: "Ramona scowled. 'I am too a Merry Sunshine!' she shouted angrily.")

I have a master’s degree in existential phenomenological therapeutic psychology from Seattle University, a certificate in Integrated Movement Therapy, and certificates in editing and writing from the University of Washington. (I really do like school.) My background in mental health and social services pairs perfectly with writing and editing—both vocations are about helping people clarify their thinking and express themselves effectively.

If you are working on a memoir or a novel and need ghostwriting, developmental editing, or book coaching, I'd love to hear from you.

Anna has been outstanding to work will. When I started working with Reedsy I narrowed my choices down to two. I went with Anna because she was local. It could not have been a better choice. Working with someone face to face, you get to feel their connection to the story and did they ‘get’ the feeling you are trying portray. Our communications have been great and timely. I’m pleased with the res...
