Fatal Flaw

Loved it! 😍

A great medical thriller with tons of secrets! You won't want to miss this!

Fatal Flaw starts out with a very strong opening scene. Then the book slows down, and it just wasn’t keeping my interest; at times, it felt very repetitive. I kept saying to myself that I wanted the book to move faster. However, slightly more than halfway through the book, the speed picked up and the action picked up. That’s when it got really good! The investigation felt realistic, and I really enjoyed Dr. Sloane and Detective Santino teaming up. At about the 75% mark, the action really picked up. That's when the book was gripping and unputdownable. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen. Just when I thought that things were going to be okay, BAM, something else happens and Detective Santino and Dr. Sloane are in trouble again. I liked the ending to all the action, but I absolutely hated the very, very ending – the last line or two of the book. I would love to talk with the author about this choice! I had my own ideas about how the author was going to progress in her writing, and with this ending, it can't happen.

The characters of the book were developed nicely. We got a little background information for each, but not too much that the details didn't add anything to the book. Additionally, there was just the right amount of prose and dialogue. I don't particularly care for books that have too many useless descriptions, so I enjoyed that this book was dialogue heavy. I also thought all of the characters were needed and played a very important part of the book in their own way. I also agreed with some of the things the author wrote about the medical community in general, about how it's all about making money.

Overall, this is a good read and anyone that likes a medical thriller with secrets should pick this book up!
