From Broken To Beautiful - How To Be Calm, Happy, And Slim - In 3 Easy Steps

Must read 🏆

A guidebook on how to lower your stress, improve your diet, plan your future health and happiness, and lose weight naturally.

From Broken to Beautiful begins with a scientific look at stress and what it does to your body, breaking down the science and the effects of the chemical cortisol on your weight and well-being. It then goes into many ways to manage your stress, including getting plenty of sleep and creating a gratitude journal.

I particularly liked the chapter on boundaries, and reducing your stress by creating boundaries with the people in your life. For example, the book talks about learning to say no when you are trying to do too much and learning to step away from work and focus on yourself. Exercise should be managed too, and From Broken to Beautiful goes into ways to exercise regularly without over-stressing your body.

The diet portion of the book talks about the effects of higher GI carbs on your body. A lower carb diet is recommended, and you can choose anything from low GI to keto.

I appreciated the list of symptoms for both low and high cortisol, although they are similar in a lot of ways. The book also includes a list of vitamins that are critical for healthy function, such as B12 and D3, and explains their importance to the body.

I was interested in the suggestion that you should feel relaxed when you eat, and the explanation as to why. I immediately began to think of ways I could eat in a stress free way.

I loved Chapter Four, Creating Your Life Vision, which gives you steps to put all these practices into a life routine. The section on meditation and actually ignoring your thoughts could be life changing. I plan to put this into practice immediately, and there are many types of meditation to choose from. Visualization is also explored, and can be a powerful thing, as your body responds to what you are seeing.

Overall, I think this book could be a helpful tool to limiting stress, losing weight, and changing your life. I highly recommend it.
