Murder by Numbers

Loved it! 😍

This start to a new cozy mystery series is fun, captivating, and well worth your time.

Back home in Lemon Tree Bay after a business failure, Clara is working in a local hair salon, living with her mother, and making a fresh start. She meets Lucas when he comes in for a haircut, and sparks begin to fly. Unfortunately, he is shortly accused of the murder of his uncle, and the police chief investigating is Clara's ex-boyfriend!

This is a fun and engaging cozy mystery with likable characters. Clara and the residents of the town of Lemon Tree Bay definitely make this an enjoyable read. The mystery is well written with plenty of twists, turns, and red herrings. The romance is sweet, and the added complication of an ex-boyfriend makes another nice twist. Clara is a fair and determined protagonist, aided by an uncanny "second sight" that gives her clues through occasional visions. Lemon Tree Bay is a close-knit community full of endearing townspeople, traditions, and customs. I would definitely like to visit this town again in other adventures.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance, cozy mysteries, and stories about new beginnings. I received a free copy of this book via Reedsy Discovery. My review is voluntary and my opinions are my own.
