Naked Truth: A Fight Against Racism, Religious Discrimination, and Retaliation in My Federal

Loved it! 😍

The Naked Truth is an alarming story about discrimination and racism at the federal government level

The Naked Truth by Dr Jean Francis is the alarmingly true story of discrimination and racism at the United States federal government level, which will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you are looking for a book that describes how power structures are maintained in organizations, despite inefficiencies and waste of financial resources, then this insightful book is all you need.

In this memoir, Dr Jean Francis documents her life story, but zeroes in on her experience working with Department of Labor (DOL). Through this very vivid firsthand account, she explains how poorly she was treated by authority figures. She also examines the lack of accountability, and reveals how harassment and retaliation traveled across governmental bodies when she began to speak out. I found this story to be quite alarming and to this end, I applaud Dr Francis courage in coming forward. However, I believe another round of editing may be necessary to address any legalities or any other concerns.

What I found most interesting was the list of takeaways included at the back of the book, based on the lessons she has learnt from this grueling experience. I most definitely agree with listening to our gut instincts and watching for red flags during the interview process. I have always believed that an organization's culture and ethic is often unwittingly revealed during this process. Simple signals like the lack of a smile, weird questions, and too much promotion for the company are all tell-tale signals to stay away.

In sum, I would encourage everyone to read this book. While Dr Jean Francis tells a very disturbing tale, it is filled with hope and determination, even when everything is falling apart around her. Time and time again, she commits herself to Christ and presses forward. Pick up a copy of The Naked Truth at your local bookstore or online.
