Silke Spingies – Designer

I’ve been a book and magazine designer for 20 years. I have designed illustrated books for Dorling Kindersley, Pearson and many others.

I enjoy working with authors on finding the best design solutions for their new books. In the portfolio below you can see a selection of my work, including the type of illustrations and infographics I can do. But I am always happy to push the boat out more if the mission requires it. ;)

Typography is my strong point: I can add beautiful structure to your book by styling headlines, contents pages, chapter openers, pull quotes, tables, bullet points etc.

I will guide you through the process of getting your new book print ready.

I would start your project by designing a typical sample chapter from your manuscript. We would be working closely together to find the best design for you. When you are happy with the “template” design, I will get the rest of the book ready in the same style.

I am fluent in English and German.

If you are putting a request together, it would be great, if you could include a typical sample chapter of your manuscript. I can help you with visuals like icons, logos, infographics and tables. If you need any of those, please mention them in your request, so I can see what’s involved. Also, if you would like a cover design, if you can, please include a couple of book covers you like. I will then have a better idea of what you are after.
