Kerry Ellis

Kerry Ellis – Designer

With nearly 20 years' experience in publishing, I've helped usher numerous books from manuscript to final production.

Overview

I'm an avid reader who became a writer and a graphic designer, and I use my twenty years of publishing experience to help independent authors create great covers for their books. I love meeting old and new authors and reading the stories they're bringing to the world. I live with my two black cats, Sketch and Smudge, and a Maine Coon named Dorian Grey Cloudbottom in the Seattle area.

TESTIMONIALS

"I want to tell you how blown away I’ve been by all your work so far. I think I speak for the rest of the team when I say we’re so, so lucky to work with you. Every cover you’ve done for us, from THE SAPPHIRE AND THE TOOTH to THE EDGE OF NORMAL to FATAL DESCENT, has been exceptional."
–Andrew Eisenman, editor at Amazon Kindle Singles

"I am so grateful to have found Kerry. Not only is she incredibly talented—she is a wonderfully pleasant person to work with. No matter how many times my schedule changed or how nit-picky I got with revisions, she was always happy to help. I had a vision for my cover and she executed it beautifully. Beyond that, in areas where I was unsure, she stepped in and created solutions that were perfect. I can't recommend her enough. I am already looking forward to working with her on future projects!"
–Asia Citro, author of _Fun at Home with Kids_

"Not only does [Kerry] have clear artistic talents and skills, she carefully reviewed my design brief to create something well-suited, unique, and beautiful for my novel. I had many questions and was rather particular about the details; she made each change, however minute, and clearly understood the importance of getting it exactly how I wanted. It was a pleasure working with her."
–Amrit Chima, author of _Darshan_

"An absolutely delightful designer to work with. So happy we connected with her. Some of the little details she incorporated into her design were just a perfect intellectual and emotional fit for the story line. ...reviews confirmed that this is the book jacket they'd want to pick up and read."
–Nicole Gebhardt, founder of Niche Pressworks

"[Kerry] has become my favorite designer for every aspect of book layout. This is the third project she's completed for me and it will not be the last. Excellent eye for detail, artistic possibility and overall design. In addition she is an effective and highly professional communicator and collaborator. A pure pleasure to work with."

Created a beautiful cover for my book and used a lot of creative elements without it looking crowded or messy. I would definitely work with Kerry again.

Kerry was amazing. Her covers were great and since my book published SO MANY people, many of them writers, have commented on how much they loved the cover. She worked with me for several weeks as we worked out what seemed to be the components that really spoke of my book. As I was wondering about all the many issues of publication she sent me articles to read and was very helpful beyond just ...
