This policy describes the information we collect to support the website of United for Education and Sustainable Futures (UESF). The privacy policy of the Youth Education Ambassadors (YEA) web site (yea-program.org) also applies.
UESF is a not-for-profit, international association with the aim to address education and development challenges around the world, while simultaneously supporting and promoting international conventions on human rights and UN standards of living for all human beings as enveloped in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
What kinds of information do we collect?
To provide the services offered by UESF, we collect information of our members, participants of our programs, and others who wish to be informed about our programs through our newsletter and updates.
- Information about our members and participants. We collect information such as names and pictures of our team members and participants of our programs for the sole purpose of displaying who is part of these. We also collect email addresses of those who subscribe to our newsletter.
How do we use this information?
We use the information as described above.
How is this information shared?
Your information is not shared with third parties. However, since the information is available on public domain, everyone with access to the internet can view this information. We do not sell your information for any purpose.
What is our legal basis for collect data?
We collect, use and share the data that we have in the ways described below:
- consistent with your consent, which you may revoke at any time;
- as necessary to comply with our legal obligations;
- to promote our programs and those who are a part of them;
- as necessary in the public interest; and
- as necessary for our (or our members‘) legitimate interests, including our interests in providing information about our programs.
How can you exercise your rights provided under the GDPR?
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to have your data erased. You also have the right to object to and restrict certain processing of your data. This includes:
- the right to object to our collecting of your data for direct marketing, which you can exercise by sending us an email to info@uesfi.org; and
- the right to object to our collecting of your data where we are performing a task in the public interest or pursuing our legitimate interests or those of our members. You can exercise this right by sending an email to info@uesfi.org.
Data retention and account deletion
We store data until it is no longer necessary to provide our services or until your profile is deleted – whichever comes first. This is a case-by-case determination that depends on things like the nature of the data, why it is collected and processed, and relevant legal or operational retention needs.
When your profile is deleted, all information related to it is also deleted, such as your photos and names. It is not possible to recover this information once it is deleted.
Changes to this privacy policy
UESF has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. It is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
