On the 12th of February, Mr. Jakov Božović from the UNIDO (The United Nations Industrial Development Organization) guided us through our eighth workshop and the topic “Youth Entrepreneurship”.
After a short introduction of UNIDO we got more information about the structure of UNIDO and the UN system, which turned out to be very complex.
The students learned more about the term “social entrepreneurship”, which stands for entrepreneurships which recognize a social problem and use entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make a positive social change.
Whereas a business entrepreneur typically measures performance in profit and return, a social entrepreneur focuses on creating social capital.
The Students formed small groups and invented their own projects, based on selected SDGs and gave presentations with a lot of enthusiasm. This creative process leaded to exciting discussions.
In conclusion Mr. Božović asked the students to share their intentions for participating the YEA program. He encouraged them to get active, the sooner the better and introduced AIESEC which is a is a global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential.
